LOL, I'm guessing Dusty decided we had too much of a lovefest going on at RZ and decided to mix it up a little. I can understand Nix being in there since he hasn't played in ages due to the back. It's not a match up thing because he's 0-3 against Hanson (although he's owned Tim Hudson .429 against him). Rolen being off puzzles me since he was just off the other day and did so well yesterday. I'm guessing that Cairo in front of Votto, they're hoping Cairo will get better pitches, but I'm not sure his hitting gets any better there. Has Hernandez caught most of Leake's games?

Rolen can take all the day games after a night game he wants. I want him fresh and he's obviously a threat off the bench. I'd like to see OC get a breather too. This a loooong stretch of games. I want to win every game but I want each player well rested for the homestand which is huge to be put some distance on the Cards.

Look for Phillips to have a big game today. He had one on the field last night. When Dad's watching, you notch it up a bit.

We play Philly right before the All Star break (literally, that's our last series before the break) so Charlie Manuel should be keeping up with the Reds around that time at least a little bit. I am trying to figure it out as well. The one run was earned because it would have scored. But the 2nd run scored from second on a fielders choice to 2B (error on Cabrera). The next play was a double play that ended the inning. How was the run from 2B earned in that situation?

Secondly, if Owings warms up in advance then he should be able to pinch hit, then enter the game as a pitcher. It saves a pinch hitter when swapping out pitchers. Nevertheless, at least Lincoln pitched a scoreless inning.
