On Baseball Tonight they just said that it would be highly possible that Stephen Strasburg makes his debut on Friday night, June 4th. The Nationals play the Reds on that night. It would be cool to see the Reds beat him on his first start! Although from all his highlights, his stuff looks as dominant as I have seen.

The idea is if they pitch him on the 4th, the start of a 6-game home-stand, they'd get 2 home starts for him. I hope it happens, maybe it would be better if we just went against their 3-4-5 starters but where's the fun in that? :D

It looks like that would be Leake's day to pitch, unless they switch up the rotation due to an off day on June 3. That'd be cool to see Leake go up against Strasburg.

Might be a 1-0 game.

EDIT: It would actually be Harang's turn in the rotation. Based on days, Leake would be up, but because of the off day it would actually be Harang's game.

That'd be a nice easy win for Strasburg if he got to go up against Harang.

That may be worth the 7 hour drive.

I wish the kid the best of luck. That franchise needs something good to happen for them, but hope that good fortune doesn't come against us.

The Reds miss him by 2 days

I wonder if the ratio of praise he gets will be 10:1 compared to what Mike Leake has received.

I find it really sad all the presure that is being put on this kid for the Senators who goes tonight. Outside of a perfect game people are going to be all over him. In a way, even though he is now starting to get some press, I think Mike Leakes ability to stay under the radar has done wonders for him.

I hope he gets beat like a red headed step child

Strasburg done this to himself by signing Scott Boras and their contract demands. If he had signed a normal contract for a 1st pick he would be getting little press right now

Yeah, boo hoo for Strassburg.

He'll do fine this season. It's next season, and especially the one after (after a full season) that will tell a big part of the story about this kid's future. Teams will have him scouted down to a 't'.

Scott Boras needs to shack up somewhere with Selig. Those two alone have helped to ..... well, I won't even say it.

So we are anti free economic system? If you had his ability are you telling me you would turn down what he got and say, no pay me less?

I met him a handful of times during his stint with USA Baseball a few years ago, and he was a really nice guy. The pressure is on him no doubt, but that isnt something to hate him over-thats ridiculous.

The Senators?

So, he's going back to about 1970 and pitching for them? :D

I've got no problem with him getting the money. I just don't feel sorry for him either. Who here's dream is he not living?

Well, since I'm a Reds loyalist, and pretty much hate every other team in mlb, I hope he gets drilled tonight. It's not personal. I just like Mike Leake's story better. Strasburg as all the hype, but Leake has gotten it done already. And Strasburg struggling will give more limelight to Leake.

Just how I feel. I hate every opponent and team in the league. And pretty much hate their players, as ballplayers........not people.

But since they are playing a NL central team, shouldn't you be rooting for him, because it just helps the Reds out even more every time a NL central team loses?

Right on. I always pull against the division (even if the team is in 5th or 6th) and I always pull for the NL in the World Series. Even if it's the Cardinals.

I hope he gets drilled and the Nationals come back and win it when he's out of the game. :D

I don't really 'hate' any other team -- there are bigger problems in life than baseball, IMO -- I am totally with you in that Mike Leake is OUR guy. Strasburg hasn't thrown a pitch yet, Mike's being done it since the season began.

Dude.......baseball is all that matters in the entire world........don't you know that? :p: ;) :D

It is really "electric" in Washington, D. C. tonight.

I'm so happy for everyone there.

I can't see what his pitches look like from the centerfield camera angle because his ears are so huge

... And wasting a fantasy roster spot on him/draft pick since the beginning of the season has paid off! lol

He could easily go 4-0 and fan 40 batters in his first month in the pros. His first four major league opponents (assuming he doesn't miss a start): Pittsburgh, Cleveland, ChiSox, and Baltimore. You could make the argument these are AAAA teams.

Indians have already sold 3,000 tickets for Sunday's game when Strasburg pitches again in Cleveland.
