Great news. I'm also slightly surprised that Nix isn't in the lineup in CF. I'm very excited about tonight's game. Hopefully they can get things done.

Good to see Joey's back, reds offense didn't really skip a beat with him not in the lineup except for Sunday. Could be a blessing in disguise getting Cairo those few extra days of playing time. That hot bat of his could translate into big pinch hit at bats late in games.

Yeah I was surprised pleasently by Cairo. I figured once someone in Louisville got hot he would be gone but now I think he brings a lot to the table.

He brings a career .674 OPS.

Outside yesterday, Cairo was beyond expectations at first base.

Let's hope his neck is better. Stretching at 1st Base for a throw....swinging the bat....can really do some damage to the neck and make it bad quickly unless it's completely healed.

glad vottos back. lets face it, it was only a matter of time before ciaro came crashing down to earth and went into a 0-15 slump. i think he used all this years hits in like 5 games.

I think this is why they didn't even risk pinch hitting him over the past week. Hopefully the extra precaution pays off and he won't have a recurrence of this, and it will make the extra days of having a short bench worth it.

I love the look of that lineup. It's like when you'd see Rose, Griffey, Morgan, Bench, Foster, Perez, Concepcion, Geronimo's names in the lineup.

I was very happy to hear of this when I was watching MLB batting practice, a little longer then what everyone expected but it is now time to look forwarded to the feature and lay off the past

Awesome! :D We need this one tonight, with LeCure going against Carpenter tomorrow. This is a big game in terms of the series.

The look of the Reds lineup with Votto is like night & day to what it is without him.

Just looked up the stats. Higher SLG and OPS than Pujols at the moment.

Votto bats over .400 in his career vs Carpenter..he's the only guy on the roster over .300 vs Carpenter (other than Stubbs who only has 6pa) so we need him to step up.

Ricciardi just dropped Votto's name as someone he would target in a trade right now ... how an "expert" thinks these things are even remotely plausible is ridiculous.

 What in the world? did he say anything about what he would give up? it would take more then just one farm to get him

Why in the world would we trade Joey Votto?

No. Just no.

Why in the world would we trade Joey Votto?

No. Just no.

He's currently rated as the best non-pitcher in the National League.

Anyone who would suggest a thing like that should stop making comments.

Attendance at Reds games would drop below 100.

He didn't suggest a possible deal just said he would approach the Reds FO and say "lets make a deal that pushes us both over the top."

And this is why he no longer has a job. (in MLB)
