Mods change thread title? Washington Post rescinded its note that Wooden has passed.

Sourcing Wikipedia is a no-no

Wiki referenced the Washington Post.

Wiki is a fine source as long as you look at the SOURCE behind what Wiki states. All the best articles include exhaustive footnotes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:John_Wooden (Bottom of page)

Wiki used to be utter crap, but have improved tremendously. I guess they figured the Washington Post is a reputable source? :dunno:

I did mean to include a link to the Post as well, which was my mistake.

How the hell does the Washington Post misreport a death? That's horrible

The #1 legend in college basketball history. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

The state of Indiana will drape itself in black bunting when Coach Wooden dies, which I hope is not soon.

I usually am not too upset when people die well into their 90s, just because, we should all be so lucky... but there was always something comforting about seeing Wooden in the stands. I hope to see him there again.

One of the most amazing careers of any modern day American.

He was a very good basketball coach too.

My younger brother was a basketball coach before he joined the Army and will be again when he's finished. He's in Iraq right now and I told him about coach Wooden this morning, he took it very hard. He had met him a couple of times.

Sucess is never final, failure is never fatal. Courage is all that matters. John Wooden

One of his players went to visit Wooden a couple days before he passed away (can't remember which player) and he noticed that Wooden was clean-shaven. He said he wanted to look good when he reunited with his beloved wife, Nell. That one got to me.

RIP, Mr. Wooden.
