I would have done every thing Baker did (play Corky yesterday so you don't have Janish and Corky in same lineup), put Phillips first for day, etc. Everything except I would never let Janish bat second. Never, never, never.

I would have either put Stubbs there for a game or Hernandez. You can't double up Stubbs and Hernandez hits best when he consciously tries to go to right side.

Oh well.

Happy to see Rolen starting today, but disappointed not to see Cabrera after the night he had last night. I am guessing this has been a scheduled off day since before the Washington series.

They play all their weekday afternoon games at 12:35. When was their last weekday afternoon game (at home of course)? Tuesday, 5/18, almost a month ago. It was a 5-4 win against the Brewers on a Votto walkoff single. Fisher with the win, Trevor Hoffman with a blown save and the loss.

According to the schedule, the last business day special was on May 18th, 2010 against the Brewers. I guess we haven't really had that many day games aside from the Sunday ones at home so far this year.

BTW-If we lose the game today I'm never starting a game thread again, LOL

It's Dusty. Bah.

Well, personally, I have no problems with Dusty or his lineups usually. I am from same school as he is in that its easier to do your job when you don't shuffle everyone everyday. That was why I hated Bob Boone so it would be contradictory of me to hate Dusty for doing what I said I wanted.

Besides that I think he did the Corky/Janish thing brilliantly (play one Wednesday, then the other Thursday so your 7 and 8 aren't horrible and horribler) and in general I like Dusty, even though thats blasphemy on this board, or so it seems.

Only two lefties in the lineup. Wellemeyer has been awful vs lefties this year (.305 BAA). Not that bad against righties (.204 BAA).

That said, Gomes over Nix makes sense the way he's hitting.

Votto and Bruce need to have big games.

Good lineup today. It's good to have some decent options when guys need days off....especially the outfield this year. I would have liked to see Nix or Heisey in left, but not a big deal. I'm hoping they can put a bunch of runs up early and coast to a win today....they deserve it.

The key to the run that scored was that the ball in RF hit something and stayed in the corner instead of bouncing to Bruce. That allowed Panda to score. Just bad luck.

They occasionally use their own broadcast (such as the Civil Rights Game or Strasburg's debut), but they often pick up local feeds. Today they are using the Giants' feed.
