What about trading Harang and a couple of prospects to the D-Backs for Dan Haren?
Haren makes $12.75M in '10, '11, & '12. Harang is making $12.25M this season and has a $2M buyout for next. D-Backs get salary relief quicker than the Reds.
Haren is having a mediocre season this year, but probably because they're losing alot. He still has a winning record though but with a high ERA.
The past 3 years he has posted ERA's under 3.33 and had a winning record in each season. He typically throws for over 200 innings and has over 200 K's too.
A wash salary-wise this year but we'd have to pay him 2 more years. With Cueto and Bailey being so up and down, and not showing alot of durability, his inning eater mentality may be what we need.
mlbtraderumors has said he is available for the right return.
