Swap Stubbs and Cabrera and you'd have a nice tweak to it. We shall see if it gets the offense going again.

Apparently Cabrera is still nursing his twisted ankle. I'm just not understanding Dusty repeatedly running him out there on a gimpy leg. It's the reason you've got Janish on the club, isn't it? Give Orlando a week off or so and let him heal up properly. Sheesh!

Seen the x-rays?

Talk to the doctor?

Have you read OC's pain diary?

How severe is his injury?

Anyone?

I've just heard that it's twisted.. about a week ago, not much since.

No, of course I haven't. But even if it's NOT bothering him...he's so obviously struggling, he's an older ball player, why not give him a few days off regardless to get some rest, heal what needs healing, and get his head screwed on straight. Sending him out there everyday to "work it out" obviously isn't working and it's hurting the club. Even Dusty's quote today said something along the lines of "he says its not bothering him, but you can see it is when he's hitting". When Bruce struggles, they sit him down to think about what he's doing wrong...why not Orlando? Plus you get the added benefit of giving Janish some much needed playing time.

I'd say this is the "exact" quote from Dusty today, but it's from Fay, so who knows how badly he mangled it. :O)

“He says it’s not affecting him much on the field,” Baker said. “He refuses to say his ankle is affecting him at the plate. I can see it on some swings.”

Just curious, anybody see the meltdown Zambrano had today? This guy has got some serious loose bolts up there. What in the world do the Cubs do with this whack-job? I certainly can't see them eating that contract, that's for sure.

Harang through 7 innings with 108 pitches. Not too impressive of a game, but it is a 'quality start'.

Chris and Thom are more like the Dorks of the Dance.

Heres Frank Hermann. I was clamoring about getting him at the deadline after I saw him throw in Columbus a few weeks ago. Lets see how he does.

Indeed. 13 baserunners, 2K's.

Good for the offense gettting him an easy win....they owe him more than a few.

Jay Bruce is officially "en fuego"

No doubt.

Josh Hamilton is 2-2 tonight, batting .500 in June. Wow.

The Reds should trade for him :)

He's only up 1-0. Those are much harder to keep. Other team wants to win, not just break up the no-no.

68 strikes....61 balls. Looks like he's wildly effective tonight.

True, although sometimes it keeps the pitcher sharp too.

About the game not being showed tomorrow, when Fox has the Saturday game of the week in primetime like it is tomorrow, no other games can be shown on the Fox Family Networks like FSO or whatever Fox market your in. I thought I heard that Fox is only showing these games in primetime because of the World Cup. In any event this is the last Saturday game that will be affected by this so that is a good thing.

BTW, if you want to have Irish Heritage Night, then that's fine (although the clogging got annoying eventually, particularly to baseball songs that it doesn't belong with), but please, for the love of Mike, NO GREEEN HATS. Wear a stinkin' 4-leaf clover on yer sleeve or something, but the green caps are AWFUL. ESPECIALLY ON THE RED.

These would be fine. Not as good as the normal unis, but at least okay. It's the green on top of the red that makes it so horrible.

They even used green batting helmets on St. Patrick's Day back when they wore those unis. It was the only good move Dick Wagner ever made.
