Nice.. I grew up a Wings fan but converted to the Blue Jackets when they entered the league. Long story as to why, my friend ;)

The Wings are hardly a small franchise (if you were referring to the "best run small franchise" bit). They are about as massive as it gets! Now, if you are saying you're a Wings fan my sincerest sympathies. :D

Blackhawks since I started to follow sports a couple decades ago. I remember many times in the late 80s/early 90s getting in trouble with my mom for listening to Pat Foley on the radio in bed. My 3 favorite athletes of all time are Hawks: Amonte, Seabrook, Larmer.

The Hawks are my #1 team in sports by far, so nothing can top the Stanley Cup we just won.

I missed the "small" tag, my bad... however their owner does not have a small pocketbook and that counts as good for them, and in a capped world they are all the same size, more so than in the past.

Very good point about market size. OTOH, Detroit's owner could open up his wallet more if his pizza weren't so terrible! :)

Been a hockey fan since the Stingers, a Blues fan since the Stingers went by the wayside and Mike Liut ended up in St. Louis.
