Uh .. Soria setting up Cordero? That's kind of like batting Taveras 3rd and Votto 8th, isn't it?

I think redlegs was inspired by Cordero finally taking a new approach, and it actually working.

I kinda like Arthur Rhodes as the set up guy.

Cordero's slider or changeup, whichever it is, dives into the dirt every time. I have no clue why he throws it because he's not fooling anyone. And his fastball doesn't have much movement on it.

I think he got mostly lucky tonight. They swung at bad pitches, and the final pitch of the final out was a lucky call. It wasn't a strike. It was high and inside.

Qualls has been a disaster this year, I want no part of him. Soria, yeah, sure, just don't give up the farm.

Here's some stats on Soria:

Soria: 1-2-3 innings: 12 times out of 35 appearances. 34%
By comparison - Cordero - 1-2-3 innings: 11 out of 43 appearances. 25.5%

Soria: Saves: 25 out of 27 opportunities
Cordero: Saves: 25 out of 31 opportunities

Soria: K's: 43 K's in 35 innings
Cordero: 34 K's in 40.2 innings

Soria: ERA: 2.31
Cordero: ERA: 4.20

Soria: BB's: 9 in 35 IP, about 1 walk for every 4 innings he pitches.
Cordero: BB's: 22 in 40.2 IP, about 1 walk for every 2 innings he pitches. Ridiculous.

Soria: Hits Allowed: 31 hits allowed in 35 IP
Cordero: Hits Allowed: 41 hits allowed in 40.2 IP

Soria: BAA: .237
Cordero: BAA: .263

I looked at Chad Qualls stats. They are abysmal. The guy is a batting tee. Just say no to Qualls.
