Did Dusty make out this lineup?

I reserve the right to complain about it :p:

Still working on what I would complain about, but I reserve the right

actually I would have let stubbs start and had Heisey in RF versus the lefty

Stubbs last good game was at wrigley (3 homers)

That's the question. Bruce over Stubbs against the lefty.

Either Stubbs is on extended rest or he's just with the club until Dickerson gets back. They are not using him.

Roy Tucker

I think this is how Dusty finesses a guy out of the lineup.

He gets "a couple days off to clear his head" and then "we still highly value Stubbs and he's be a Red for a long time" and then "Heisey is playing well, we can't bench him" and then "Stubbs needs some ABs and we can't give them to him right now" as he gets on the bus for Louisville.

I won't be surprised to see Bruce suffer the same disappearing act if he doesn't turn things around soon.

I'd have gone with that but the OF in Wrigley can be tough with the wind so that may be why Dusty's going with Bruce.

guttle11
08-06-2010, 12:26 PM
They won't send Bruce down, he's too big a part in the clubhouse. Plus, his defense is GG caliber. He may not stay an everyday starter if Dickerson comes up and hits well, but he'll be on the 25 man.

For once, there should be absolutely no complaining about the lineup or batting order.

I'm just going to resort to complaining about the fact that I have no reason to complain about today's lineup.

On a more serious note, I hope the Reds light the scoreboard up. This is probably one of the better lineups we've seen all year, and if the team hits then Dusty will be much more likely to keep running this same lineup out there for a bit. I love the fact that the top four goes Phillips-Heisey-Votto-Rolen. It's common sense goodness.

Well, I think Paul "Honus" Janish should bat cleanup.

I agree with Cyclone, today would be a good day to light up the scoreboard.

Against the southpaw, Dusty might want Stubbs to join Cairo and Hernandez as righty PH possibilities for the #9 slot or simply for a defensive replacement to try to help hold a late lead.

Yup. It'd be nice if we could drop one of those patented Cincinnati Reds 10-hitter innings on the Cubs early on in this contest.

Hanny grounds out to short for the 1st out.

True, though he's been walking 4.5 batters per nine innings this season--so he's made a habit of walking guys all year.
