Joey Votto is currently 7 off the lead for RBI we all know, or at least a lot of you should know that hes in that race.

Here is one stat you didnt know.

Joey Votto currently leads the league in runs scored with 79.

Vottos amazing season is amazing no matter where you look but the idea that he could lead the league in RBI and runs is pretty insane to think about. Especially since hes missed a handful of games.

Another interesting stat:

In the 7th inning or later, Votto leads the league in R, H, HR, RBI, BA, SLG, and OPS (minimum of 75 PA).

Votto's numbers with the 2nd place player in parentheses:
R: 32 (26)
H: 46 (42)
HR: 12 (9)
RBI: 28 (28)
BA: .365 (.351)
SLG: .730 (.574)
OPS: 1.182 (.998)

The gap between him and the 2nd place player in SLG and OPS is simply ridiculous. Talk about a clutch player.

eh... still doesn't have as many rbi's as Adam Dunn. ;)

Only Bagwell and Griffey have lead the league in Runs and RBI in recent history.

I think AROD did also during that huge 2007 year.

edit: yep, 143 runs and 156 rbi!

Pretty heady company for Joey, if he can finish the year first in both categories.

Agree. Just shut up and let him play his game. The MVP stuff will take care of itself at season's end.

No need for additional pressure. There's enough with being in a pennant race and all.

Very good observation GIDP.

He's the real deal. Glad it appears that his wrist problems are behind him.
