Heisey 9
Votto 3
Gomes 7
Francisco 5
Razor 2
Stubbs 8
Janish 6
Harang 1

Interesting that JF gets the start at 3rd. Cairo's leg must still be bothering him. Not an ideal lineup vs Jimenez, but I will say it's good to see Janish still getting some starts w/ O-Cab back!

We're off to the game! Go Reds!

I love Dusty sitting Rolen against Ubaldo. Great spot to get him some rest. And why not let Francisco as a lefty take some of his might cuts against Jiminez?

Nice move from Baker.

Defensively, Janish makes sense with Francisco at third base. A bit more range at SS without Rolen in the lineup.

JF's swing might be a bit long for Jimenez, but we shall see.

FYI, for those having heart palpitations regarding Gomes hitting 4th, let alone being in the lineup today, he is 2-6 with 2 big flies versus Ubaldo in his career.

Gomes in the lineup?

Who could complain about that?

The alternatives were Franciso, Alonso and Cairo.

Gomes is a GG winner compared to them.

I can live with this lineup today.

The only change I'd make is Hannigan catching Harang instead of Hernandez. Call me crazy but it seems Harang pitches better with Hannigan behind the plate.

According to this (http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/cin/schedule/redsradio_affiliates.jsp), 950 AM is the Reds on Radio Indianapolis affiliate. Meaning, I believe, you should hear the 700 broadcast there.

You make him sound like Gary Majewski. If he's going to be of any use in October, the contact can't be so hard all the time. Gonzalez ball was a clean double. The ball Gomes caught was a rope and the smash to Votto was scalded. Can't give up hard contact like that. His second inning was real good. Two high pops and a nice looking K. More innings like the second are what I expect.

Hopefully you can tell the differnce between the second which was good and the first which really wasn't.

The contact hasn't been hard all the time. That ball hit by Gonzalez was hit far but Stubbs had that if he wouldn't have hesitated. 2nd inning was pretty nice.

Lots of pitchers aren't ground ball pitchers or strikeout pitchers and they aren't Gary Majewski. I know Harang isn't the pitcher he was 3 years ago but basing his results on the 1st inning is somewhat premature.
