Actually, I'd rather see Bruce and Stubbs switched. Stubbs seems to do better farther down in the order. Bruce seems to have succeeded in the lead-off spot the few games he hit there.

Need the O to show up today.

Well this team was rock solid most of the season. Five straight winning months and until a couple weeks ago tied for the most series wins of any team in MLB. They just happen to be playing their worst ball of the season at the least optimal time.

Without a hammer at the top of the rotation, the pitching matchups on a given night aren't usually favorable but over a 10-game stretch it is at least a wash.

Bailey and Volquez are pitching much better. Have to hope for some magic from those guys to have a chance to win the opening series.

BPhil's injury, and playing him everyday single day as an offensive black hole in the recent 8-13 stretch with Valaika and Janish available to provide some rest is inexplicable. Couple that with the pen meltdown and Leake/Wood and maybe Cueto hitting the wall a bit and its been a rough go.

Arroyo/Bailey/Volquez have been solid though.

Totally agree. I would, however, like to see the GRD rule changed to where a runner at first scores if there is two outs when it's hit. Since I'd estimate that a runner scores from first well over 80% of the time on a double with two outs.
