Compared to Rose and Morgan almost anyone is going to look bad.

I think the point was that they both had the same number of RBIs, which makes Votto's season all the more impressive.

The futility of the Reds' 1 and 2 hitters in terms of getting on base has been ridiculous this year, and is one of several reasons why moving Phillips ought to be on the table this offseason.

The funny thing is that they always start with these qualifiers, about how he's not very big, not very fast, doesn't hit for power, won't hit for a high average, below average arm, as if that's admirable rather than demonstrating that the guy sucks.

BTW, thanks for doing PBP, Redsfan320. You do a fine job.Yes it is Lohse (4-8 with a 7.18 ERA) for the Cards against Morton (2-11 with an 8.11 ERA) for the Pirates. That may be the ugliest pitching matchup of the year.

Heh. Just as R.E.M. counts the Byrds as a chief influence, FJM's evisceration of Eckstein and his legion of lickspittle buddies is a chief influence on my career.

Also, the fact that Eckstein has apparently started believing them makes it 100 times worse.
