Well, he's getting one in my living room. I'm really gonna miss Aaron. Class guy.

And this game is underway!

K! Way to start Harangatang!

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:14 PM
Hart with a single that JUUUUUST scoots by Cabrera. They were shading him a bit to right. Probably had him if not for that.

Fly out to Bruce from Braun.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:17 PM
KK! Nice start for Aaron!

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:19 PM
Phillips lifts one to right for out #1 on the first pitch.

_Sir_Charles_

Ocab with a shot down the 1b line for a single.

WVRedsFan
10-03-2010, 01:21 PM
Brandon Phillips drives me nuts swinging at the first pitch. Doesn't this team have any idea that if they work a pitcher, they make get rid of him early? Especially a lefty who is tough?

Ron Madden
10-03-2010, 01:21 PM
Starting Aaron Harang in today's game is a class move by the Reds in honor of a class guy in Aaron Harang.

Washed-up SS with a single and Votto with a double to put the Reds up 1-0. RBI No., 113 for Votto.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:25 PM
Rolen drives one to center for out #2...but deep enough for Joey to advance to third.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:26 PM
I'd love to see Rolen get off of 20 HR's....he's been stuck on that for a while now.

_Sir_Charles_

McGehee flies one to shallow right the Jay hauls in. 1 down.

seems to be a high zone. Low strikes not getting called. That doesn't bode well for Aaron.

Brandon flies out to right to end the inning. 2-0 Reds it remains after 2 full.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:45 PM
Hmmmm....Valiaka has taken over for Phillips. He went down on one knee on that last swing. Hope he's okay. Hopefully it's just a substitution for rest like Dusty said he would....early though....Dusty said they'd go 5 or so.

Aaron walks Weeks. Come on Aaron!

JaxRed
10-03-2010, 01:49 PM
Went back to see if I could see anything on Phillip's swing, but they cut away too fast. Did see that Hart lost his chewing gum.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:50 PM
Yeah, he was twisting in between swings like he was trying to loosen up some. But that last swing he went down on one knee...but that just looked like he was a bit off balance.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 01:51 PM
Hart drives one to the wall to left center to plate 2 and tie it up. Crud.

Harang lost the strike zone and had to groove one.

Harang is out after 41 pitches with a blister on one of his fingers of his throwing hand. He gets a well deserved standing ovation as he leaves.

Good luck Aaron! I hope you end up pitching for a California team next year....I enjoyed your years with the Reds...

Why did Phillips get pulled? Double switch? I missed that.

We're not sure. He may have tweeked something on a kinda funky swing...or Dusty might've just pulled him a bit earlier than planned. Most of the guys are going to get yanked around the 5th inning or so according to Dusty.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 02:04 PM
Cabrera with a slow 2 hopper to third for the first out.

After three ainnings, Reds 2, Brewers 2.

Wolf at 45 pitches, 34 strikes after three innings.

Maloney coming in now? My guess is that Dusty went to Ondrusek since he can warm up faster, and will now use a starter after more time to warm up.

_Sir_Charles_
10-03-2010, 02:09 PM
Maloney on the hill for Ondrusek.

That was awesome! Corky was waiting for him and nailed him with the tag. Great job by Corky.

Corky is muched maligned, but he's an excellent reciever and the staff does better when he's back there. I've no problem with him as a stopgap that plays 25 or so games in the first half of 2011 while waiting for Mes. Ramon probably comes back, but if the Reds decide not to push their luck on a repeat at $3.5 Million, the improved defense would make up for a lot of whatever offensive drop there would be. You might argue that we'll see a pretty decent sized offensive drop anyway if Ramon does come back. It would just be w/o the defensive boost to the staff that Corky provides over Ramon.

That's something I almost never used to see...the pitching coach making the pitching change. But Price has done that quite a bit this season.

Not that it means anything...just an observation.

One of two things.

1. Dusty resting up for the playoffs.

2. Dusty doing some 'on the job training' for Price. "Get out there and make a pitching change kid. Don't be nervous, you can do it"

After Chris Heisey robs a home run from Laynce Nix...during batting practice, Nix calmly holds his bat up and glares in Heisey's general direction. Feeling the heat of Nix's glare, Heisey opts to throw the ball over the wall and signal home run.

91 wins! Hello playoffs!

On a side note, that was terrible work by FSOhio. On the final K of Hart, the camera stayed on Hart for like 10 seconds and missed the celebration on the mound completely. What were they thinking? Who wants to see Hart walk back to the dugout?
