A true leader would know when he's not able to play, and would sit. I'm pretty frustrated by this.

I wish the Reds would have listened to their voices of reason and gone ahead and removed him from the roster. I know they didn't want to risk the chance they made the next round, but given how pessimistic they were even a day ago, I can't believe he's in any shape to be playing (effectively).

I admire toughness, but not at the expense of production. Especially in do-or-die situations like this.

I don't like this decision at all.

I give Cabrerea and Rolen credit for wanting to play, but at what point does it start to become detrimental to the team to start two guys who are so clearly hampered by injury?

Nonsense. He just tells the team when he's ready to play to the best of his abilities. It's the team(manager's job) to decide if he plays.

It's not like any of us know whether he's good enough to go or not.

I don't care who's decision it is but I'd really like my SS to be able to make a strong throw to first base. ;)

I find it impossible to believe that he is 100% ready to go after obviously dealing with this for the last month+ of the season, and having to come out of game 2 48 hours ago because of it. There is zero guarantee it won't flare up in the 2nd inning tonight. He should know that a healthy Janish is better than whatever he is right now, and shouldn't put his manager in this situation.

I' m always going to be in the pro-Janish camp, but I just think that by this point, Reds fans would come to accept that Dusty does know what he's doing with the personnel on this club. They should also accept the fact that this is a VERY unselfish ballclub and that they're also not going to hurt the club for their own personal goals. Our knowledge of the situation is clearly not enough to make ANY kind of informed judgment on this situation. Dusty's knowledge IS enough.

That being said, I'm sure that if Cabrera re-aggravates it, Janish will be in the game. Let's hope that doesn't happen because I don't want to see ANY of the Reds suffer injuries.

Lastly....GO REDS!!!

Cabrera had a rather miniscule .657 OPS to begin with. Now he's not even 100% by everyone's admission, and as of a day ago, was being contemplated replacing him on the roster. Throw in air-mailing routine throws to first, and it's just common sense that he should not be starting tonight. I just don't know how that can be argued.
