Jeter must be on crack.

He's wanting $150M over 6 years???

I wouldn't pay him $60M over 6 years. That's ridiculous. I don't care if he's a Yankees icon at this point. He's asking to be paid that much just because of his name and history with the team. Ridiculous.

Agree with you matic. He should thank and take the 45 mill the Yankees offered. How much money does one need? His 189 mill contract that just ended made him one of the highest paid players out there. He'll now be ending his career after coming off his worst season. The Yanks know that no other team will be offering what their offering. He needs to do the right thing and accept the 45 mill and be thankful not greedy otherwise his great career might get a little tarnished.

When I read this thread title, I wouldve thought Jeter was in the wrong if the yankees were offering him $0, because he's not worth 80 million, and they're 80 million apart, lol.

Jeter needs to take the 45 before he realizes no one will offer him even half that.

Boston might just to stick it to the Yankees

His market is limited to Yankess, Red Sox & Mets. But the Mets already have an over priced SS so I do not think they will want two

He'd be labeled, by Yankee fans, as the ultimate traitor if he signed with the Red Sox. Just sayin'.

Jeter's a fool, as he's apparently bought into all the "Face of the Franchise" BS.

Would Minka actually think less of him if he took the paltry $45M?

In retrospect, he is the true Yankee po$ter boy, after all.

I couldn't imaging Epstein ever pulling a move as silly as that.
