Cairo agrees to 2 year contract with Reds

The Reds signed Miguel Cairo to a two-year deal worth $2MM. Cairo, 36, hit .290/.353/.410 in 226 plate appearances for the Reds, playing mostly at the infield corners.

Good move in my opinion. Have to plan on Janish being the starter so you need a veteran utility guy. Can't rely on Cozart and Valaika.

This move doesn't leave me with a response either way... I think the fact that they did this during the winter meetings is a waste of time while at the Winter Meetings.

I think they have to make these deals and get their players signed so they can know where the payroll stands before they make any major moves.

When is arbitration? If they don't sign Cueto and Votto, they'll have to wait until arbitration to find out what they'll make, and then factor that into what moves they can make.

Good move bringing him back. He was a big piece to the division title and you want to bring back as many pieces as possible. You gotta love a guy that is happy with coming off the bench and contributing any way he can.
