Doesn't sound serious but thought Redszoner's would want to know.

Uh oh... They better trade him, sounds like he'll never be able to be a productive every day player, lol.

Maybe we can get him for Volquez & DRH?

Maybe I am just reading too much into it (likely),or am to defensive over him, (just as likely) but I think if it was any other player the headline would have read "x hospitalized with pneumonia", but went for the shock factor knowing many people prob read it and thought/assumed it was a relapse or something along those lines.

You really have to wonder what kind of career this kid could have had if he had taken better care of himself. Even now he continues to have health issues which are going to impact his production in the career he has left. We might have had one of the greatest of all time...

I still think he is the best I have ever seen in person in my lifetime...starting in high school.

Very True. He wasn't nicknamed "the natural" for nothing.

I still would not be suprised to see his career end relatively early considering the "wringer" which alcohol and drug abuse puts your body through. He will likely have more durability issues than he would have had without the past abuse.(we may still end up thinking we got the better of the Volquez-Hamilton deal based on longevity.)

In any event, I wish im the best and am always rooting for his success. :)

Being from NC, you apparently have unique incite into Hamilton. The view everyone is given, indicates his problems began once he was signed to big bucks, and upon being injured and subsequently bored, his problems began. Can you further illuminate the rest of us in any way?

Thats pretty much the summary of it, he was injured but stayed in Florida to be with his team after drafted by the Rays. It was his first time away from home, alone, and injured and frustrated, and that time was filled through other outlets. The Devil Rays had to focus on the players on the field and Josh became forgotten and dont think they realized what he was getting into. I dont think it was your typical "bored", I think it was being alone and unsure. He is one of the nicest guys you can meet-the religion push can def be a turnoff to many-and a great talent.

My ,how things have changed in my lifetime. A person of faith used to be respected, now they denigrated.Did you ever think his character and his faith are more than incidental........?

Huh? I never said anything negative about it-just said that many find his style of sharing his belief as pushy, and never hinted to no respect. I have no problem with it, thats what kept him strong and helped him get through it, so more power to him.
