Damn, I love how bad he is. I was really looking forward to some more classics:
"Joey Votto is having an excellent season in both spots in the lineup, hitting third and playing first base"

"Drew Stubbs is a triple threat, power, speed, defense and baserunning"

"You know Chris the Reds are playing good defense despite the that throwing error from Cabrera and that passed ball by the catcher"

haha

I won't miss his lipsmacking/breathing into the microphones, and his MMMM with emphasis after something happens several times a game.

Subtract Keels, add Casey.

Good talent upgrade!

How is Kelch?

Kelch is fine.

I didn't like Keels either.

Now they need to add Dan Hoard. Hoard should be first in line for any future Reds broadcasting opening. He is one of the best, IMHO.

This is a good move. I wasn't sure how Keels would with baseball and I was amazed about how bad he was - he is good on radio, doing football and basketball, but baseball and TV did not mix.

Kelch will do fine and the addition of Casey appears to be a good move. Looking forward to it.

I enjoy listening to Jim Kelch, he does a fine job and has earned his stripes so to speak. Like many others have stated, Paul Keels was just bad. It's good to see a change made. Fox Sports experienced record high television ratings in 2010 and I'm sure are expecting more of the same in 2011 so hopefully the move will assist in that manner.

Does the Reds organization have control over who announces on television or does Fox Sports Ohio? I know the Reds organization has control over the radio announcers.

I grew up listening to Kelch do Louisville Redbirds games. Always thought he was very good.

Were all of you good at your new job duties the first few few times you performed them? Sheeesh

- I thought Keels did fairly well for being his first year. He is a super Reds fan also. I am glad he is still doing Buckeye games!

I like Kelch and it will be good to hear Casey's enthusiasm.

I can't say one is more entertaining than the other. Seems like a lateral move to me.

"There's a long fly ball to left field. Home run, Joey Votto."

Yeah, that'll be missed.

Good for Kelch.

Keels just doesn't seem as suited to announce baseball as he is in football and basketball.

Kelch seems much more at ease with the between pitch banter. Good move for everyone.

For some reason Kelch reminds me of Hoard. When I moved away from the city 8 or so years ago Hoard was basically just getting started with UC and worked for Fox, he's grown on me over the past decade doing basketball games I will admit.

Just got my APBA baseball cards, will be replaying the 2010 Reds season and the voice of Keels will be in my head as I roll those dice.

Keels Out, Kelch In Reds TV

This is by far the best move the Reds made this offseason, just wish Casey was not added. He is like the only guy on the MLB channel I can not stand

Keels was good for a mistake/per inning, but I didn't mind.Kelch is more professional, maybe less humorous. In my opinion Chris Welch enhances anyone doing the shows thus far.
