Nice to see Santana back on the field after that nasty leg injury last year.

Watched him vs. Aroldis last year in Columbus. Crazy talent, pretty fun AB's.

It rained to beat the band last night, but there’s barely a cloud in the sky this morning. So we should by OK for the 1:05 (local time) opener with the Indians. It’s chilly but the sun should dry the field at Goodyear Ballpark.

I was trying to think of something other than "fear" to match with Stache. I can't think of anything to rhyme with it.

Nice to hear those words again!

I'm just hoping to hear them followed with "2011 World Series Champs!"

The internet on my netbook is being very hit or miss this afternoon (which is why I haven't commented even though I've been in this thread for a while :p: ) but I wanted to drop in and say GO REDS while I had a solid connection. Hi everyone! *waves* :D

Thoroughly enjoyed this game thread mainly because it's been 4 months since we had one and because this is proof positive that spring is here and not a minute too soon. I listened to the game game on my BlackBerry Torch through MLB At-Bat 11, and I highly recommend it. I was in the car and ran it through Sync on my Ford Fusion, and when I got out, I had it on the phone for the whole game. Kind of like the old transistor radios. Much fun. Marty and Jim did a great job. I thought Maloney "sounded" good and so did Sam. The young reliever we got from the Angels (who had TJ surgery) might be helpful, but I think we need a little AAA for him. Anxious for the next game. It's baseball season!!!

I think Arredondo is out of options? Not positive.

I'm hoping it makes no difference. :O) After a few of Marty's comments during the game yesterday I did a bit of reading on Arredondo...I never realized just how great he was prior to the injury. If he comes back even CLOSE to that, he'd be a huge shot in the arm for the pen (which wasn't too darned bad to begin with).

His W-L and his ERA are pretty, but his peripherals aren't quite as sexy. He's a comparable arm to Volquez, but he's not a sub 2.00 FIP guy.

I remain cautious with my expectations for him.
