Babe Ruth vs. Ted Williams

Ruth, for his impact and name recognition ultimately.
However, I'd take Mays as my #1.

I'll go with Williams. What would his numbers have been without the lost years? Plus question is who is the best outfielder so pitching doesn't come into it.

Ruth He totally and forever changed the game.
Thanks for doing this. Very interesting. Are you going to do all positions?

Ruth is baseball. Williams was an amazing player, too, but I'd honestly put several guys who were already eliminated over him (Cobb, Mays). It is all irrelevant, though: my vote is for The Babe.

If he doesn't, I'll do the rest of the positions except pitchers.

My heart wants to pick Teddy Ballgame, but you can't assume numbers from his lost seasons.
And Ruth's numbers stagger the imagination.

Williams was a man among boys, but the Babe was a giant among boys.
It's Ruth.

Cool. I'll give this the typical week to finish, then start with catchers. Great idea, Ox!

Should we go back and fill out the OF and do a full lineup deal?
Anyways no other way to cut it than even with the years lost to the war Babe is still the Babe.
Babe over Ted.

I'd say whoever wins this is #1 OF, whoever loses is #2, then whoever got the most votes last week of the 2 losers (Cobb or Aaron) is #3. Then we can arrange them by position, say Williams in LF, Cobb in CF (if he had more votes last week than Aaron) and Ruth in RF.
EDIT: As it was, Cobb had more votes than Aaron (9-0), so he is our #3 OF.

I'm as big of a Ted Williams fan as there is, but nothing wrong with being #2 to Babe Ruth.
The Bambino, for sure.
