The REDS' Catchers are easily the best combined catching platoon in the National League.

What did they do this weekend?

9 for 12 (.750 AVG)
18 Total Bases (1.500 SLG)
On-Base Plus Slugging (2.269 OBP)
Game Winning, 2-out, Bottom-of-the-9th, 3-run shot on Opening Day.
7 RBI's, 5 Runs scored.
Zero Strikeouts.
Gave up only 1 Stolen Base.

They're really good. And there's even more where that came from in the minors.

I was impressed with Hanigan. If the bottom of the lineup can produce like that, or even half of that..we'll be in good shape.

Really wish we had a single true stud catcher, but love the H boys behind the plate as a rotation.

I don't. Single true stud catchers get injured more often.

^Know what you mean, but thats not at all true, usually just means they dont have as reliable a backup usually. I meant my statement more in terms of wish we had a little better better of a true tools catcher, but I am more then happy with what we have as well.

Those numbers are pretty gaudy. Hopefully H&H can keep up the production

I would actually be in favor of seeing Hanigan bat leadoff from time to time. Its not like he is the typical slow plodding catcher that would clog up those bases.

Other than the fact that he is the slow plodding catcher that would clog up the bases, he would do fine hitting leadoff.
