Stubbs 8
Renteria 6
Votto 3
Phillips 4
Bruce 9
Rolen 5
Lewis 7
Hanigan 2
Arroyo 1

vs. former Red Kyle Lohse

Rolen hitting 6th tonight, although my guess is that when Janish comes back (still DTD with that ankle problem), BP will hit 2 again, and Rolen 4.

Lewis gets the nod in LF, sitting down Gomes.

Punto 4
Rasmus 8
Pujols 3
Holliday 7
Berkman 9
Molina 2
Descalso 5
Greene 6
Lohse 1

vs. Bronson

Guessing The Riot is still out with some oblique issues he's been having.

Let's kick some Cardinal Butt!!

Hopefully the weather holds up for this one. There is a 70% chance of storms tonight, 80% tomorrow and 50% on Sunday.

Last year, the first complete game from a Reds starter was on May 11th by Johnny Cueto. Homer Bailey followed up with a complete game on May 12th.

Today is May 13th, so it only makes logical sense that Arroyo tosses a complete game tonight, and Cueto follows up with one tomorrow, May 14th.

We just had a monsoon just north of downtown about 20 minutes ago. It's let up some but still raining.

Normally, I wouldn't either but it's frustrating as hell to watch the Reds lose to this team time and time again. (not that I've given up tonight) Cincinnati has a similar situation the last half inning and don't score. Meanwhile, St. Louis is one big hit from busting this game open.

Bray is fool's gold as anyone who has watched pitch in eons knows. Leake is not a reliever in any way, shape, or form. And yet, these are the kinds of choking sounds we get from the Reds every time we play the Cardinals. It's going to happen over and over until we get the players we need to beat them. Yes, I'm saying that even the non-fielding horrible lineup Cardinals are will always outplay the Reds in head to head competition because they do not choke against us. Dusty, who is a good manager just makes mistake after mistake against them. It's normal, so I don't expect anything else

Guys, am I wrong in saying this is the worst move that Dusty has ever made in Cincinnati? This is almost as bad as the lineup card, bat out of turn fiasco several years ago in Chicago.

It's up there. But to be at least partially fair, it was Walt's decision to not send Mike to Louisville and instead have a 2 long-man bullpen. Dusty's got to pitch Mike in relief sometime if he's in the pen. But a guy who throws in such a calm state like Leake, do you really want him coming into games in high pressure situations when his adrenaline is throbbing through him? Simply put, he is NOT suited for the bullpen. Just like Bronson wouldn't be suited for it.

The Reds don't have a shut-down guy in the bullpen. If Ondrusek comes in, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen and then a flood of posts discussing how overworked he is. For Masset, the call to arms would be "oh great, bad Masset showed up today." Bray and Chapman weren't coming in to face the right handers, nor was Cordero. And LeCure would instantly be "AAAA fodder."

Some of the posters on this board are so incredibly reactionary that it amazes me sometimes. I'm not excusing Leake's pitching, nor am I saying that it was absolutely the right move. But I think that when you are facing a first ballot hall of famer and two guys who are OPSing 1.300 then it isn't unlikely that bad things will happen.
