I would've bet my life on Larkin's '96 season but he missed out on the average by 2 percentage points.

Guy in front of me turned around and said, "Nick Esasky." I told him that's a good one if they combined two of his seasons. Possibly rude on my part, but c'mon.

Looking around, no surprise Frank Robinson did it a couple of times and just missed it a few others. Yep, George Foster in '77. Who else?

Whoa, gotta give credit to my buddy for guessing the Cobra. That one came out of right field.

Gus Bell did it in 1953, but the question began after 1960.


Frank Robinson did it in 1961 & 1962.
George Foster in 1977.
Dave Parker did it in 1985.
Ken Griffey, Jr. in 2005.
Mr. Votto did it in 2010.

Ah, excellent, thank you. We all guessed Votto at the game but I forgot to put it in the post. Griffey Jr., duh. Shoulda known. I wonder who's done the same for other teams like, say, the Cards?
