I think it is pretty clear that right now for whatever reason be it physical or mental, we can not use Chapman. So with the string of games coming up to me the Reds must send him down and bring up an arm we can actually use. So whom should the Reds call up from Louisville?

Herrera? How's he pitching down there? I haven't checked lately.

Jeremy Horst, his era is about 1.60, big kid, said he was left handed, currently with the Bats

Jeremy Horst is a lefthander who has a sub-2.00 e.r.a. in 17 IP in relief at Louisville. Hitters are hitting only around .200 off of him. Might be his shot.

Is Horst on the 40 man? If not, would a move have to be made to get him up here? My money is on Smith or Fisher, unfortunately.

Good point.

Herrera is dead weight on the 40 man, though. Horst is a lefty (unlike Smith) and has played like he belongs all through the season. He may not be the one to make it, but I certainly wouldn't mind if Herrera was DFAed, Chapman demoted, and Horst promoted.

I agree with that, but this organization hasn't shown to be terribly willing to make those kinds of moves the past couple of seasons. Maybe they'll surprise us.

Would love to see D-Train be the guy. I also think if Volquez doesn't get it done the next few outings D-Train could start.

Horst would be good, but not sure if they want to bring him up yet.

I would bet Maloney or Herrera, but I wouldn't mind seeing Dontrelle up.

If we bring up Dontrelle up we can make him the long-man/mop up guy and move Sam Lecure to a middle relief role.

I think it's time for Chapman to go to AAA to get right.I have no problem bring up Smith. He's allowed 2 hits in 3 1/3 inns.He showed what he could do last year, that's got to count for something.

I would assume it would have to be Smith or Maloney. Not sure which of the 2 I would prefer. Maloney got beat up pretty bad once, maybe twice while he was up, but he also had some pretty darn decent outings as well. Same for Smith, plus, as was mentioned previously, he DID have a pretty good season last year as well. But honestly, I wouldn't complain with 'em bringing up either of the 2, just not sure that I prefer one over the other at this point. But Chapman has GOT to be sent down, he is just quite literally "out of control" and the majors is just NOT the place to be ironing out the problems the guy is having.

I dont care who it is, as long as they get Chapman out of here for now and teach him how to pitch. Hurting the team when he takes the mount, and the longer he goes like this the more he is hurting himself.

The statistics from his last four appearances are unreal. 19 batters faced. 12 walked, one hit by a pitch and three struck out. So 16 of the 19 didn't even need a bat. Of the three that put the ball in play two got hits. 15 of the 19 reached base against him. His ERA over that stretch was 67.50. That may have been the worst four appearance stretch of any pitcher in MLB history.

I came up with "Cuban Cluster Bomb". Like it?

Lots of firepower that drops wherever it wants to with no direction!

I think Dontrelle Willis might actually be a good fit in the role. His whole career, even in the years he was dreadful, he has always gotten out lefties. LHH bat .216 for their career against him and this year his minor league splits don't look much different.
