@Indians Cleveland Indians
Travis Hafner placed on DL; Ezequiel Carrera & Frank Herrmann promoted from Columbus. Luis Valbuena optioned to Triple-A

I think his best bet is to lean into one and get on base that way. He's a complete mess at the plate right now.

Gomes does something generally crummy as usual
Votto grounds to O-Cab on a nice play.

He's lost too much to be a top shelf SS anymore, but I always thought he'd be a very good 2B as this point in his career. Very nice diving snag to rob Votto of a knock.

Common sense screams it was a ball because Ondrusek had poor command that inning and it is well known that umps are most likely to incorrectly call a ball out of the strike zone a strike on a 3-0 count.

Whether a pitch is high or not is a tough call, since it changes from hitter to hitter, and is not definitively defined in the rule book.

That pitch might have been high, but I've seen much worse automatic strikes on 3-0 counts, and I've seen that pitch called a strike on other counts as well.

Another for the archives, since no one really took him to task for it...if Heisey plays the ball cleanly as he is supposed to do as a "plus" fielder, the game might still be going on.

Tough call. Stubbs probably got himself too close to the wall on what appeared to be a ball hit more towards left field making it Heisey's ball to chase to the wall, but I didn't see a replay. Either way their team IQ has been greatly exaggerated to date.

That's what happens when you have meh stuff. When you lose it, it goes down fast.

Wood was lucky to be pitching like he was tonight though. He threw something like 6 first pitch strikes the entire game.

If he was scorching balls right at people, maybe. But even when he hits the ball it's either a pop-up or ground out. He's just a disaster at the plate right now.
