It needs to be a right handed bat (since Dusty will not use Back to Back lefties)
It needs to come from one of these teams (these are the only teams more than 6 games out of a playoff spot)
It needs to be a LF, SS, or 3B the Reds are good at all other positions
The player needs to be cheap because the Reds have no budget, the cheaper the player the more it will cost the Reds in talent
Washington
I do not think this team will deal anyone. They believe when Strasburg returns they have all the pieces to make a playoff team (I call BS)
LA Dodgers
Matt Kemp CF who can be moved to LF or Stubbs can be moved
Matt Kemp 2011:$6.95M one more arbitration year
San Diego
Ryan Ludwick LF Rent a player $6.775M 2011
Chicago Cubs Both are too costy for the Reds
Alfonso Soriano LF Contract is a killer, but that should make him cheap talent wise (Maybe the Cubs eat some of the Contract)
Alfonso Soriano 2010-14:$18M annually, full no-trade clause
Aramis Ramirez 3B Power outage this season might not be any better than Rolen
Aramis Ramirez 2011 - $14.6M player option 2012 - $16M club option ($2M buyout)
Houston
Carlos Lee LF started slow last year too, but costs too much
Carlos Lee 2011:$18.5M, 2012:$18.5M
Hunter Pence RF be might be the one untouchable player Houston has
Hunter Pence 2011 - 6.9M + 2 more arbitration years
NY Mets
Jason Bay LF has shown no signs of life in 2 years
Jason Bay 2011:$16M, 2012:$16M, 2013:$16M, 2014:$17M club option ($3M buyout)
Carlos Beltran RF looked good this season but is a rent a player
Carlos Beltran 2011:$18.5M
Jose Reyes SS he would be a rent a player and really not protection for Votto but a leadoff hitter
Jose Reyes 2011 11m
David Wright 3B DO IT DO IT DO IT it is not like he is a superstar :)
David Wright 2011:$14M, 2012:$15M, 2013:$16M club option
Minnesota
Delmon Young LF does not strike fear into pitchers (.213 BA this season)
Delmon Young $5.375M (2011) + one more arbitration year
what deals can be made?
