I heard Chad Reineke mentioned

Yep, that is the name mentioned on Reds Live and by John Fay. But he is not on the 40 man roster, do they have someone they want to move to the 60 day DL? It is DL, trade, or release

I love the fact they are not rushing EV back to the majors, maybe this will be the wake up call he needed

He is on the 60 day DL so he is already off the 40 man roster, that was the move they did to bring up the reliever yesterday. Another move is needed for Reineke

If he is right Bailey is hurt more than they are saying or Sam LeCure might have seen his last days as a Red. 60 DL him then a release, Dusty was pissed about his tweets

I don't think there is any question that the health of Bailey is worse then what they are saying. Why do you feel Sam is done with the Reds?

They will not 60 day DL Chapman

If they are true about Bailey they will want him back as soon as possible

That just leaves Sam and I do not think they will be willing to cut someone else after 60 days to make room for him, he is serviceable but not by any means good. The only reason he was with the big team was because he was on the 40 man roster and they had all kinds of pitching injuries.

PLUS Sam claims on twitter he was ready to pitch, so if they do transfer him to the 60 DL from the 15 day after he said he was not hurt I do not think he will be a happy camper

I say both sides just go their separate ways after the 60 days, at least he will get major league pay for those 60 days

They may trade him for a low level prospect just to keep the 40 man roster spot and to get someone out of him

Reineke will get the nod on Tuesday. He draws Zack Greinke. Good luck, son.

Greinke has almost a 6 ERA

Reineke has been good in AAA
5-2
2.52 ERA
2.7BB/9
5.2SO/9

Grienke also has 39 strike outs and just 3 walks in 28 innings. He also has an xFIP of just 1.58. Those are sick numbers. I hope the Reds do light him up. But if I had to pick between Greinke and Reineke as to which pitcher will get roughed up. I am picking Reineke.

They can make a spot by DFAing Cochran. He is 29 and a career minor leaguer. I doubt anyone would put in a claim for him.

But what data does the Brewers have on Reineke? I mean maybe we get lucky and they pull a Reds and are baffled, at least maybe twice through the lineup and then the bullpen takes over...plus lets not forget the Brewers so far are HORRIBLE on the road averageing 2.8 runs per game.

According to MLB.com Daryl Thompson is no longer on the 40 man roster

nothing in the transaction to say why

They designated Cochrane for assignment. I guess if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit applied to him. His glove must not have fit right.

I think he only has two starts in the majors.. one was an emergency start with a prompt demotion. He is untested in the show, essentially.

That is not all bad, very little info for the Brewers to know about him, should help him first time if not first and 2nd time through their order if he has anything..

No Brewer has faced Reineke. Five innings and turn it over to the bullpen has to be the plan.

Unless he has a perfect game or no hitter then let him continue I say...:beerme:

No Brewer has faced Reineke. Five innings and turn it over to the bullpen has to be the plan.

It will be smooth sailing, the Reds with a 3 run lead, and then he'll get into the 5th or 6th inning and walk a couple of guys and allow a hit without getting an out. Dusty will be sitting in the dugout contemplating whether or not he needs a new toothpick, and nobody will be up in the bullpen warming up. He'll walk 3 runs in and Dusty will signal Brian Price to get someone up in the bullpen.

Later that night, Dusty will say his bullpen is worn out and he didn't want to use anyone.

That's about how I see Dusty in these situations. Everyone in the world can see the wheels falling off and Dusty is trying out some new pickle flavored toothpick or something and clueless about the game.
