Just wanted to see what you guys think of Q. He was a fifth-rounder by the Phillies in 2006 and was added to the 40-man last year. After a horrid half-season he was claimed off waivers by the Padres this past July. A few days later he was once again designated for assignment and then outrighted to Double-A San Antonio.
This past off-season he was minor league Rule V'd to the Mets and was released out of spring training before signing with the Reds in late April.
Anyway, he has always been known for his speed (he swapped 55 and 51 bases in 2007 and 2008, respectively) but couldn't hit. Now, with Double-A Carolina, he's hitting .300 and has 12 stolen bases and has become a clubhouse leader. I don't know if the Reds will try to keep him beyond this season (they'd likely have to protect him on the 40,) but if he continues to hit, he may force the Reds' hand.
