View Full Version : Hello from St Louis

I'd like to welcome myself to your forum, if that is alright with you.
I am someone very important in the St Louis organization. In fact, if we ever had an altercation, I'd have to ask you, "do you know what I do for a living"? even though I'm sure you'd recognize me if you saw me.

I just want to offer my appreciation to all the teams in the National League that we play every year. I have nothing but respect when we go head to head and I would never do anything to show up any of the teams we play and especially none of the players.

I can't come right out and say who I am, and it wouldn't be fair to my employers if I did, but some of you will figure it out. I just wanted to say hello and hopefully be able to post with the natives here without any trouble.

I'll go for now, as I'm working out how to get a pitcher to seem like a sane choice to play shortstop, right after I double switch a guy here in a couple minutes so I am certain to have the pitcher's spot batting clean up for the final 4 innings.

Bye for now.

Well, that was a refreshing nap! I feel much better now. I guess I'll be moving on, for now.
I'd really like to make this a conversation, if someone wants to talk and discuss how I school your manager about 18 times a year.
Gotta run, there is a cop pecking on my window.

that's funny, we do have a 4-2 lead on you so far, and everyone schools Dusty Baker it's not that great of an accomplishment

Dusty is a good guy and as far as mortals go, he is very good manager. Recalling his work with Prior and Wood, and how it was so beautiful, it brings a tear to my eyes. Brings back sweet memories of my early days with Matt Morris and Alan Benes.

Dusty is no genius though. And the toothpick is just ridiculous.

SABID, glad you stopped by, I've been meaning to tell you, you left your bottle of Just For Men last time you were in town. I found in tucked between a couple empty 6ers of Miller. the Busch people won't be happy about that, but your secret's safe with me, bruh.

I have no idea what you are talking about. For one thing, I don't use Just For Men. Firstly, that is very sexist and may show up a woman. Secondly, my Squire wig was installed permanently and since it is synthetic, it needs absolutely no maintenance. The aviators are just a choice of first class taste and style.

And I drink only wine. Beer is for common folk, like Walt Jocketty and Dusty Baker.

That was delicious egg plant and a wonderful salad. All washed down with a gallon of the good stuff! Ah, how a sweep of the Cubs makes a man feel like he has a purpose. My ingenius use of Skip de do dah at second and the one, the only, THE RIOT! at shortstop....you can't make this up! Right?
Would Dusty have ever, in a million seasons, thought up playing guys where I play them? Yeah, right. Right? I think we all know who the genius is.

A blind man walked by with a seeing eye dog and I was able to pet him. Made my night, getting to pet the doggie. Except now, it makes me miss So Taguchi.

Now I'm a little bit depressed. But hell, nothing another gallon won't help cure!

Hey bartender, hit me with another!

How those shingles treating you TLR? In that interview you did with Bob Costco it looked as if you could only see out of one eye. Have the GODS damned you? Don't worry, the Reds will be back in first place by the time that scab on your face heals!

Oh my head hurts, worse than a JD Drew owie. I'm not even sure where the **** I am. I think I see the arch, but I'm not sure which state I'm in here.
Trust me when I say my

head hurts so bad.

That nap was not refreshing at all. I am in freaking pain. I still can't see out of my right eye and now I have double vision in my LEFT eye. You bunch of Reds fans ever had double vision in one eye? Of course not. You know how big your brain has to be to be able to do that? Bbig! Yeah, big.

Whoa! Who is that five foot dude in my back seat in lingerie? What the....

uh, I'll be back in a bit. This guy looks pretty athletic.

How do you guys think I'd look if I grew one of those Brian Wilson beards? Really, who does he think he's fooling?

Criss Angel or David Blaine? I have to say, given a choice, I'd choose Aaron Miles. He isn't much fun to hang out with though, like at Six Flags, he isn't tall enough for half the rides. But he is scrappy and pays his dues on time. He can even bail a guy out by pitching in relief when the manager has burned thru his bullpen by the 8th inning.
Do you know how proud I was last year to see Joe Mather pitching while Kyle Freaking Loshe played left field? I emailed my old high school chemistry teacher, Mr Simon, and told him all about it. Some writer called me a genius. Because I am one. A smart one.

Ok, I'll admit, maybe it isn't "genius" to walk off a plane at the airport in Houston declaring you have a "buzz and a fungo" especially when it is true. Don't these folks down here in Mexico have any sense of humor? I think the answer to that is about the same as the chances of that Dennis Descano kid starting at second base anytime soon for the Cardinals.

PS: I'm sick of being harassed by The Man.

Just finished putting the final touches on the script for the broadcast guys for tomorrow's game, and decided to go for a cab ride to check the pricing on some stuff I'll be needing in the next week or so when one of these young punks that haven't paid their dues makes a mistake.

Did you inject the juice in Pujols buttock or do you let him do that himself? Wait Big Mac's the hitting coach, so i'm sure thats his job. Seems like Pujols is back on his double dose as his HR total go up so does the acne on his back/face..

Do you know who I am? Do you know what I do for a living? Of course I'm important. I invented baseball, afterall. Ok, so they played it before I came along but I made baseball work.
When you have time to run and grab another hotdog and beer in a tight game in late innings during a pitching change where a lefty is brought in to face a lefty, thank your SABID.
When you see a man's career be reinvented because he is playing a position for which he was not drafted or signed to play, whether he plays it well or not (think Craig Biggio), thank your SABID.
When you see men treating the kids' game of baseball as a chore and refusing to have fun, but instead be all business-like and professional, to the point of not being able to have a bowel movement for a week, thank your SABID.
When you see a pitcher batting 8th to start a game, and 4th to end the game, thank your SABID.
When you see a catcher pitching to a third baseman, a second baseman playing third, a right fielder playing second, a third baseman playing first, a second baseman playing shortstop, a leftfielder playing right and a starting pitcher playing left, thank your SABID.
When you see defensive show-offs at shortstop and rightfield being sent to the nether regions of the west coast, thank your SABID.

Dare you call SABID self important anymore? I don't feel self important, but you should be a little more grateful for what I've done for baseball, and trust me, I wouldn't be posting here if it wasn't the right thing to do.

Hello fans!
I apologize for my long absence. I made a promise to myself while watching cork bits in the bottom of a nice Louisiana merlot back in June that I would not make any more posts here to you, my adoring fans, until our season was over. If my evil plan works, that'll be tonight, mortals. Bud Selig promised me 600 pounds of dog food for my shelter and a gallon jug of Prohibition Era vino if I'd agree to drag this playoffs thing out to 5 games. Game 3 was a close call and I thought the team was going to spoil it, but a little creative pinchhitting or lack of it and, well, the results speak for themselves.
Off the subject, there is a stupid turtle laying on his back kicking his legs, trying to reach a laptop. Dumbest thing I've seen since Ryan Ludwick standing in my office, whining like a baby wondering why he couldn't play more often. Being an animal lover, I should flip that damn turtle over but he is sort of pissing me off the way he reminds me of Ludwick so he can flail for a while.
They just told me the game started so I better go.
