Baseball uniforms should not be orange.

The Giants and Orioles both had orange alternate uniforms in the late 70's and early 80's, but they were better looking than these things. The Giants' orange unis from that period had more black and white trim than these.

That was my thinking. Wood handles the bat pretty well for a pitcher, and he would have a fair chance at making contact. And even if he didn't, then you would still have runners on 2nd and 3rd for Stubbs.

I don't know if Janish is actually a worse hitter, or if it just seems that way. However, the trio of Wood, Leake, and Arroyo all handle the bat pretty well for pitchers. (Bailey might also be in that group when healthy.)

Wow. What a weird play. Phillips lines a ball off Tejada that bounces to the SS on to 2nd. 5-6-4 on the FC.

Ahhh, quick story: watching the game and checking in on the game thread I suddenly notice that you all are way ahead of me... At least by a full three to five minutes... I know there are short delays from one cable/satellite system to another but this was absurd. Janish making an out was posted BEFORE the Reds got out of the bottom of the previous inning. I was starting to freak out, then got excited that I might be time traveling....

Turns out just forgot I had paused it earlier :)

I probably would have given him a grade of B-, maybe a B. He gave up a lot of baserunners, and more than one hit on an 0-2 count (which is inexcusable, IMO). But he did work out of trouble and allowed only two runs in 8 IP.
