He was already warming up for the save opportunity was the explanation that I heard.

I thought the decision to bring him in Saturday was fine. Cordero had pitched poorly the last 2 times out, so it was an opportunity to allow him to pitch in a non-pressure situation and hopefully give him an opportunity to get his head right. That said, I don't understand why he still would bring him out on Sunday. That was a miserable decision and obviously didn't work at all

This, unfortunately the guy doesn't think ahead and when he actually needed him Sunday he was clearly spent.
