I know it must always be an honor to be selected to the All-Star team, but a player hitting .250 with 5 home runs, that can only play two games in a row without needing the third off, should respectively say no, letting someone that deserves to be there, be there and giving himself a four day break before the long second half. Just an opinion.

rolen as an all star is absurd, they might as well have selected janish

I am glad Rolen got to go. Lifetime award selection. But if Rolen has played in enough games then Cueto has too. And it is a freaking shame Cueto isn't on the squad.

cueto has the highest w.a.r. of any pitcher not on the team

Which is worse, based on the year their having this year, Scott Rolen being voted in or Derek Jeter being voted in?

is there really a third baseman that should be there from the NL that isn't on the DL (Polanco, Jones) or declined to play (Ramirez)?

Game, set, match. Good point. The 3B list is pretty thin this year in the NL.

Rolen has had some sreat and deserved all-star years in the 'lou and last year for the Reds but this year he got in through attrition and injuries. JMHO

Plank Derek Jeter.

If Cueto played 3B he'd be there. Rolen is there because of the dearth of quality 3B in the NL this year as well as the incredible amount of injuries to the few decent ones. No reason he should refuse.
