Bruce

Hammer the righty early. If late inning opportunities vs lefty relievers.....you have plenty of options to PH for Alonso.

Stubbs and Phillips don't exactly kill righties. Why give them the extra ABs?

Because Votto doesn't bat leadoff?

Maybe Heisey?

Heck, why not Bruce to lead off? It's been done before.

The real disconnect is Dusty having Cairo bunt in the 1st in a game with Arroyo on the hill. BA has a +7 ERA in his last 7 starts (now), and we shouldn't be playing for a single run given that fact.

Absolutely. It looks like he is swinging with more authority now, rather than swinging for contact. I definitely agree with the mental part, and Paul even admitted after he went down that he was over thinking his at bats.
