Fred Lewis is NOT the problem.....he has played well for a fourth/fifth outfielder.

corey patterson ?

No way! You don't think he is dating Dusty's daughter like Corey was.

All he seems to do is hit the ball hard every at bat.

He is playing fine, not sure what his role is on the team at this point other than taking ABs away from guys that are being evaluated.

He's on the team because he is a better baseball player than you, me and every single person that posts on this message board. I would love to see a lot of you pitch to him.

I think that Lewis has played pretty well for us this year. Is he an all star, or even an everyday outfielder? Probably not. But he has came up several times off the bench, as well as in some of the starts that he has been given. Personally I would like to see Alonso start to get some of his starts in LF, but Lewis is fine in my book.

He has not hurt this team --- could others do better * cough Alonso * -- I think yes

I am shocked that coming into this year was 51 of 70 in career SB -- and is 1 for 5 this year -- I thought we were getting something in that area when he signed

Overall I'm pretty happy with the way he's played, but he's not going to be a long term part of the team. He may be better in some matchups than Alonso or Heisey, but at this point, the Reds are pretty much out of contention. It's time to give the young guys consistent at bats to see what they can do

I don't blame Lewis. Dusty really hasn't used him properly anyway. And I think Lewis has done as well as expected.

I knew he wasn't a basestealer. But was hoping for more in that department. But not his fault.

He's a decent player, but shouldn't be blocking the path of players who are part of the future.

At this point he should be released or traded. He has more than played well enough for his $990,000 BUT he is not in the long term plans for this team and this season is over.

Trade Razor, they are not going to offer him arbitration because he would take it, so that means no draft picks. Trade him just to get make room for Mesoraco. Trade him for cash if you have to

I would also get rid of the D-Train unless they think they can resign him for next year. Even if the can do they want too, with all the other starters they have?

DL Hi-C

Make those 4 moves and bring up Wood, Sappelt, Mesoraco, & Francisco. It is clear the current team does not have what it takes to win. Maybe those 4 provide lighting in a bottle and they catch fire and pull this season out (no not really). If not they have MLB experience for 2012

Nothing wrong with Fred Lewis. Reds problem especially in close games is that they can't get the big hit when they need it. It has happened over and over again. When or if they ever start getting hits in big situations they will win, regardless of what dusty does or doesn't do.
