Hallelujah!

Watching Sappelt, does he ever have a bad PA? Always seems to give himself a chance to hit the ball hard somewhere.

Though he grounded into a double play, I must congratulate Todd Frazier on his choice of music during his at-bats--"Fly Me To The Moon", by Frank Sinatra.

In further news that may cause some of you to quit reading the thread in favor of hiding under a piece of furniture, Masset is in.

Wigginton flies out. Good job, Nick! 3-2 Reds going to the bottom of the eighth.

Hadn't watched the whole game, so I didn't realize until the TV guys just said so -- the Reds have turned four inning-ending double plays tonight. That's how Leake got by giving up all those singles, apparently.

Belisle in to pitch for Colorado.

Sappelt grounds out. One out.

Renteria with a bunt single. Heads explode. Votto up.

IslandRed

Votto grounds into a 3-6-3. The DP, she giveth and she taketh away. Going to the ninth, 3-2 Reds.

Cordero in. Glad he remembered where the mound was, there hasn't been much to close lately.

After a double switch, it's Iannetta-Herrera-Fowler up for the Rockies.

IslandRed
08-10-2011, 09:40 PM
Iannetta pops out to Votto. One down.

IslandRed
08-10-2011, 09:42 PM
Elienzer Alfonzo in to pinch hit and doubles to left.

IslandRed
08-10-2011, 09:44 PM
Eric Young pinch-runs for Alfonzo and promptly steals third. Still one out.

IslandRed
08-10-2011, 09:45 PM
Fowler hits a nubber back to the mound, Young caught in no-man's land and eventually tagged out in the rundown. Fowler made it to second. Two outs.

Last out: Nelson grounds one down the line at third. Frazier watches it to see if it's going foul, then at the last second, fields it and tags Fowler who was chugging to third base. Out! Nifty play.

I think Fowler was safe but I'll take it! :beerme:

Finally, a win against the Rox, but alas it appears that the club has lost the fan base. Three page game threads say it all. It's really a sad situation.

Congrats to Mike Leake, who continues to show the veterans how to pitch.

Just watched the highlights, having listened to the game sporadically last night. Nice to see four double plays, all inning ending. And none routine, as I recall.

I noticed that too. I mean come on, who can't like a kid who would choose THAT for his ab music? :beerme:

I've really liked that Joey uses the opening music to The Rolling Stones "Paint It Black".

Didn't help that RedsZone was down most of the day and only came back up just after the game started.
