He was getting rocked tonight by the Braves. Gave up 5 homeruns, throws at Chipper a couple of times, gets tossed, cleans out his locker, and tells the team he's considering retirement.

Hey guys, I know this year has sucked, but at least we aren't Cubs fans.

Good for him. It's always something with this guy. He clearly lacks the temperment to play major league baseball. He also cannot hit a women's softball pitchers during BP. : )

He needs some serious help. He quit on his teammates and if I'm them, I'm not sure I'd want to see him around for awhile.

The fact that not one Cub came out of the dugout when a good portion of the braves bench was on the field should tell you what his team mates think of him.

Still, I hope he comes back. You can bet the Cubs don't want him to and they'd save that 18 mil they owe him next season. He's garbage at this point...expensive rival team within division garbage...maybe I can call him and talk some sense into him.

This. The Cubs, while terrible, are a sleeping giant. If they shed his contract and Dempster's next year as well they can be players in this weak division as soon as next year. With about $45 mil to spend next year even with Zambrano, they could probably reup Ramirez and then sign CJ Wilson and Fielder or Pujols. While not a stellar team, it could still compete. Factor in the contracts coming off the books the following year as well and they could overhaul within a couple years.

I've never believed in the curses or whatever, that club just has bad management right now. Put $130+ mil in the hands of someone not named Jim Hendry and that club could dominate this division.

Zambrano has been suspended 30 days from the team (without pay.) I understand why the Cubs want to be rid of him, but I think they are over-reaching here. I'm not sure his frequent outbursts give the Cubs grounds for not paying him for that long.
