He showed no anticipation there even though it was evident the Padres were at least going to have some trouble making the catch at the very least. I'm sticking with atrocious. I expect a hell of a lot more out of an MVP than that. Horrible baserunning.

Just want to express support for Votto on that play. Has to assume the ball would be caught. Has to stick close to first base. Atrocious and horrible are just not fair adjectives in that situation.

I would say that horrible and atrocious do fairly summarize the Padres play on that pop up.
