View Full Version : 9/18/11 Brewcrew @ Reds (Maloney in place of D-Train)

Not that many care (and why would you?), but D-Train scratched today due to back spasms, so Maloney moved up, but gives up a 4 spot in the first.

Hit, HR, Hit, HR. Brewers batted 10 in the 1st. Sigh

Phillips
Renteria
Votto
Bruce
Alonso
Francisco
Stubbs
Mesoraco
Maloney

And the Reds go down 1-2-3 to Greinke in the 1st.

But it's football season, so back to watching the Redzone Channel.

Wow Maloney. 7 Runs in less than 2 innings. He may have Japan in his future.

He may indeed. I don't see how we can keep using a spot on the 40 man for him. Nice guy, but I doubt he will be with the Reds in 2012.

And another note: Drew Stubbs has set an all time Reds record by striking out in the 3rd inning.

After 4 innings, Brewers 7, Reds 0.

Sam LeCure threw two and a third perfect innings.
Zach Greinke is throwing a no-hitter through 4 innings, 66 pitches, 42 strikes, and 7 Ks.

No hitter gone and a run in so far...

It's the pitching and the hitting, stupid.

Walt's campaign slogan for the off season whereby he will immediately declare Volquez as our ace, and being happy with who we have. Status quo all the way, making the slogan revised to, "it's the money, stupid."

The Reds look lethargic as we move into the 9th inning.

Getting schooled will do that to you. The pitching is toast, I am really, really worried about next year. They have very few in house options to inject. If they want to win, they're going to have to take a chance on some deals for arms in the offseason.

Maybe Ollie North can help them.

One of the thing no one is willing to talk about is the hitting. Four hits in two games against the Brewers. Shameful.

The old saying is "Good Pitching stops Good Hitting".

I'm getting more and more worried too, especially when you see the distance between Milwaukee and us that has opened up in a year, mostly because of their added starting pitching. Our pitching needs major overhaul. I see us needing another starter and probably three bullpen arms from outside. In the near term, I hope Wood and maybe also LeCure get starts before the end of the season.
