Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos has been kidnapped, according to multiple media reports.
Details are scarce, but Ramos is a native of Venezuela, where abductions have reached a near-epidemic level. Typically, the wealthy are targeted. As a Major League baseball player, Ramos certainly fits that bill.
Ramos, 24, is expected to be the Nationals starting catcher next season.

Venezuelan police rescued Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos on Friday, two days after he was kidnapped, officials announced.Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos said his kidnapping ordeal left him unharmed physically but "very damaged" psychologically after he was rescued by Venezuelan security forces.
