According to MLB Trade Rumors:

"Though Hernandez is a Type A free agent, the Rockies won't surrender a draft pick to sign him, since he's a modified free agent under baseball's new collective bargaining agreement. The Reds will obtain a compensatory pick for losing Hernandez, however."

Didn't have to offer arb for him. We will get a comp pick between 1 and 2 for him I believe. The CBA changed that rule.

Certainly not irreplaceable, but I miss Hernandez. He was about as clutch as the Reds had last season. Not surprised that he will be playing elsewhere in 2012.

I have to give major thanks to him-I was probably the most vocal on here when we traded for him as I was not impressed with what I saw out of him in Balti, but he sure changed my mind once he got here! Thanks Ramon and best wishes in Colorado!
