To call the Reyes signing "smart" and the Buerhle and Bell signings bad is almost idiotic, if you ask me.

Haha, omitting the Oswalt entry because it won't be with us? But really, someone is going to sign him to a really good deal.

Taken by itself the Reyes deal is a little on the 'ehhhh' side to me, but seeing as how he's almost as valuable as Fielder and got half the cash but only three less years...

How is the Oswalt deal #4 when it hasn't happened yet?

If he signs somewhere for $15MIL it would be in the 'worst' category IMO.
If he signs somewhere for $6MIL then it would be better than the Padres deal and possibly better than the Reyes signing.

The Buerhle and Bell signings were good ones as far as getting the player, the amount and/or the number of years given to them makes them bad.
You may also be correct about the Reyes signing, a bit overpriced possibly.

I don't think the Beltran signing is going to be that big a deal - not that it's a bad deal, per se, but I would move that one down from # 1. The Madsen deal should be higher than #9 imho.

He doesn't have the Angels signing Pujols on either list - that was one of the biggest deals of the off season.

Perhaps Beltran will be a stud, but I will be surprised if he (and Reyes) both make it through the season without missing 20 games due to injuries - and if that happens it kinda makes it hard to justify as #1 or #1 best offseason moves.

I can remember thinking how unfair it was that he was hurt in '70, and didn't get to take part in the World Series. And then his career was over just a year later and at such a young age.
