Updated lineup, originally no berkman, now;

Cardinal lineup vs. Bailey:

Furcal
Beltran
Holliday
Berkman
Freese
Molina
Jay
Descalso
Westbrook

This is a pretty good lineup, not looking forward to this game at all, hopefully we can do some damage vs Westbrook

Thoughts?

Please post lineups in the game thread. It makes it easier if everything is consolidated in one place for the game. Thanks.

Yeah, and there isn't a Sundeck game thread section

Yes there is. Try this. http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94680

Both forums have a game thread.

Sundeck's is the one with the more inciteful, errr, insightful commentary. LOL.

It is a good lineup. Also, three SH and two LHH against Bailey.

While the Reds have only Votto and Bruce from the left side against Westbrook.

This is why I hated to see Grandal, and to lesser extents, Alonso and Francisco traded.

Walt is gonna have to do something to balance our lineup (and soon), IMO.

Okay say we kept Alonso, Francisco and Grandal. Grandal would be in AA and Alonso in AAA and Francisco on the bench...exactly how does that help?

this is exactly my opinion, they were all backed up at their positions, and i did not care for Francisco at all.

None of them could be doing anything to contribute to the team now barring a injury.

Grandal is in AAA (PCL). OPSing 1.315.

Last year he OPSed 1.333 in AAA (IL).

OK, OK. Extremely small sample sizes. But he's probably pretty close.

And I hope Mesoraco turns out to be the better player.

I would be shocked if he was in AAA with the Reds to start the season, might end there but start? but lets say he does, where does he play in the Reds future? We have a catcher and a backup...your trade your excess for what you lack.

Volquez may well post comparable numbers to Latos.

Boxberger is a future closer. One we might well need.

Grandal is one of the top catchers in minor league baseball.

Alonso could have replaced Votto. The dude can simply hit.

I know I have a bad taste in my mouth after Mat's first start, but I always felt like we gave up way too much for the guy.

The Cardinals never rebuild. They just reload.
