#Reds are hitting .201. Throw out the numbers from Zack Cozart (.471) and Jay Bruce (.316), and the rest of the team is hitting .144. #reds

After 5 last year: Cin 5-0, St. Louis 2-4. Clearly, fans are right declaring season over.

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2012_04_11_slnmlb_cinmlb_1&mode=preview

The Reds have often found themselves on the wrong end of Garcia's success. Garcia owns a 6-1 record and 3.13 career ERA in nine appearances (seven starts) against Cincinnati, with 37 strikeouts and 16 walks in 46 innings.

Cueto, who held the Marlins to three hits over seven scoreless innings en route to a win last Thursday, found a successful formula against the Cardinals in 2011. The right-hander went 1-1 with a 2.60 ERA in four starts against St. Louis last season.

Cardinals using their B lineup on a getaway day. Matheny is clearly a deciple of TLR.

With that lineup it may be another day before they break out the slump. Saying that now they should go out and score 12 runs today. :)

I wouldn't have sat Freese. That guys on fire right now. I did see that Berkman is a little banged up already this season and he was going to sit today anyway.

Yeah, the Fat Elvis tweaked something when he went for the triple last night. My advice to him is stick to Wendy's triples rather than trying to run for a triple :D

He seriously looked like he needed an oxygen tank when he got to third. He was in bad shape at that point. :)

I still think he ran well for being 36 years old. Kind of fun watching the Puma run the bases.

Actually I was surprised at his speed. He was a little quicker than I thought. Even though he's killed the Reds I have always liked him. Seems like a good guy.

I'm trying to remember play from 5 or 6 years ago maybe when a player of similar girth hit a triple. The outfielder had fallen down and the 3rd base coach was waving him home. The player had a look of sheer terror on his face at the prospect of having to run another 90 feet and as I remember actually tried to shake his head no.

If this continues through April, Dusty may be on his way out of town. Not that this is all his fault, just saying he might not last.

It is not all of his fault, but when his lineups are not producing and he refuses to get creative, we have a major problem there. Our pitching is not as good as the other teams, but our offense should be.

It will be. I know its hard not to overreact in the early season (I'm battling an inner freak out right now), but it is a loooong season. Heck, the Reds hadn't lost at this point last year, and they didn't sniff a title. It could easily go the opposite way this year.

If Heisey had been a LH hitter, I think we would've seen him there.

Heisey is still a better hitter then Harris, regardless of handedness. But Dusty is too "by the book" to care.

Anyone else find it funny when Harris makes contact he is so focused on seeing the ball all the way in he has no clue where the ball is after contact.

Per usual, Garcia has his bone head 5th inning. I don't know what the heck is wrong with this kid. It always seems that people hit him in the 5th or 6th inning. Guy needs to mature and get his head in the game if he is going to be an effective pitcher in the future.
