Washington Nationals:

Ian Desmond (R) SS
Danny Espinosa (S) 2B
Ryan Zimmerman (R) 3B
Adam LaRoche (L) 1B
Jayson Werth (R) RF
Mark DeRosa (R) LF
Rick Ankiel (L) CF
Wilson Ramos (R) C
Ross Detwiler (R) P

Detwiler is a left handed pitcher.

Good to see BP and Rolen back in there and getting Harris and Valdez out of there. They could have another rough going though against this young lefty Detwiler who had a solid outing last time out vs the Mets.

I think Heisey should play instead of Stubbs against RIGHTIES. Heisey does not hit lefties. Very odd day to make that switch, really baffling to me. Do the Reds follow these stats?

Stubbs plays constantly against righties, who he can't hit, but rests against lefties, who he can hit.

Heisey lifetime against lefties has a solid .179 BA and a world beating .545 OPS.

Hope it all works out, Reds need a win.

This is the moment for the Reds, two on, no out, top of the order up. Phllips sacrifices. Stops running, Phillips is not right. Now, though, he's in the dugout and seems ok.

Phillips not completely healthy, obviously, stopped running on that play.

I don't mind bunting once in awhile, but Phillips bunting? Ok, some people wanted it, the Reds radio guys wanted a bunt, I just don't like giving up Phillips there.

But the big out was Cozart, he needs to hit the fly ball and get the run home. That's the bottom line IMO.

I am in amazement that he Dusty will not throw Bruce behind Votto for more than one game...they would have brought in a lefty for the two and Votto loves lefties. Or walk Votto still and have Bruce show his bat, which is more reliable for sure.

Leake is his 3rd season... I get what you're saying though. It really comes down to Reds fans not liking Homer. There's a double standard, just like Dunn and others that fans tend to ride. Every single swing makes a weak/sore hamstring hurt even more. Phillips shouldn't have gone up to hit, IMO. Granted he got us a nice hit, but it may not be worth at the cost at which it may have came. I've played baseball for years, and have had the unfortunate experience of 2 badly strained hamstrings.
