Cardinals Line-Up

Furcal SS, Beltran RF, Holliday LF, Berkman 1B, Freese 3B, Molina C, Jay CF, Descalso 2B, (Lohse P)

Looks like the A team to me. Let's hope Johnny brings it tonight!

At what point does Votto get so tired of getting nothing to hit that he brings up the issue with Dusty? Might be only way we see a change.

I live in Columbus, and the Cavs game is on. That's ok though, because the game is free on MLB.tv. Nope, its blackout. Because the local team is playing. In St. Louis. MLB believes I shouldn't be able to watch the game because I should be AT the game. In St. Louis.

While I think the warning may have been an overreaction, I don't subscribe to the "he threw a breaking ball" argument as a way to explain he thereby wasn't throwing at a batter. Guys can control a breaking ball enough to hit a batter with it if they're so inclined. And in my estimation, if you want to throw at a guy, sometimes doing it with a breaking ball is the way to go because of the saturation of the excuse that it's "only a breaking ball so he couldn't have been throwing at him."

Any ball at 80+ MPH is gonna sting a bit. Personally, I got the feeling Cueto was throwing at Molina.

Oh, and that was a TERRIBLE call.

There is no rhyme or reason to the "never make the 1st or last out at 3rd base."

That is a silly unwritten rule. Just silly. Actually getting to third with no outs is a huge tactical advantage because of the many ways you can score from third with less than one out. That makes it a good reason to try and go first-to-third in that situation. It sets up scoring on a sac fly, a balk, a wild pitch, a groundout, etc.

It took a near perfect throw AND a terrible call for Stubbs to be out on that play. That right there is textbook evidence as to why Stubbs made a good decision going to third.

Yes, the Reds hitters are struggling. But I'm sorry, pretty much ANY team is going to struggle with the way Loshe is pitching tonight. Pinpoint accuracy on ALL of his pitches. When he throws a ball, it's because that's where he meant to throw it. Like that last one to Ludwick. I hate the cards and I can't stand Loshe, but calling it lucky breaks tonight is just flat out wrong. He's dealin' and the Reds are outmatched.
