Not a good forecast for tonight's game. Which is not surprising I think it rains everytime the Reds play in Pittsburgh:

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms

There is no rhyme or reason. Just whoever he thinks will do well. I honestly really like this matchup. Don't know why though.

I can't figure out when they play Heisey v. when they play Ludwick. That is one unusual platoon.

Based on the starting pitcher. Heisey hits fastball pitchers better, Ludwick hits off speed pitchers better. I have no idea what type Correia is.

IBB which shows the problem with splitting the lefties. I understand splitting up the lefties to avoid a LOOGY but in doing so you hurt 2 to 4 trips through the lineup with no guarantee you ever to get to an event you wish to avoid on the other time through the lineup.

Heisey pops right up to the catcher. Walks failed to haunt. 6-1 Reds going to the bottom of the 9th.

Lot of pop ups by the Reds that inning. Too bad, opportunity for a bunch of runs there.

You are correct sir. It was a triple, nearly a HR.

Cueto pitched like an ace tonight. Great game, but who cares if any Reds make the AS game? It's such a non-event anyway. And it should be played in October after the WS.

Some nice swings by Stubbs last night. I see an improved 2-strike approach -- choking up a fraction and a shorter swing. He seems to have sacrificed a little power for contact overall. I imagine it's good for him to see that he can still crank it over 400 feet. All you can ask of these guys is that they try to improve/adjust. I think we're seeing more of that from Stubbs and Bruce in 2012 than we did in 2011.
