The Cincinnati Reds would be in the playoffs as the second wild card. A little perspective reminder in the new expanded playoff system that the Reds will be in the postseason race for the duration even with a flawed but talented team.

So far, the NL is barely capable of even being called AAAA. The Dodgers are a 4 or 5 player team and they have the best record in the NL. The Cardinals best player is an ancient Lance Berkman, and the Nationals are the third best team. The Nationals....yuck.

This thread is now false.

2nd wildcard is the Mets

I'll always favor the old 2 division pennant system. If you play 162 games, you gotta reward the two best teams as much as you can.

The Cardinals best player is an ancient Lance Berkman,

Actually, he's barely played, the best player is a resurgent Carlos Beltran. Could we have gotten him?

A lefty veteran that used to be fast....good Lord he'd play 185 games and get 854 AB playing for Dusty.....but he can actually still play.....so that may negate everything.
