I'm always in the mood for the Reds to win. Tonight, I'm in the mood for the Reds to win by 10 runs. I want the Reds to be giving Votto a rest after the seventh inning, and the Pirates to be using an outfielder to pitch the ninth.

I'd be interested to see where we stand in the percentage of runs scored without a homerun. I'm guessing right at the bottom of the league.

A .350 slugging/ .230 hitting catcher the first 1/2 of his career, becomes a .300/.500 guy?

14 dingers in 1150 minor league games......700 ops.

Yes, I do think his performance is enhanced. :)

The thing with Ludwick is he is pretty much putting up the same numbers he has the last 3 years. I had some hope moving to GABP would improve his numbers but he has been consistently bad the last several years.

Cozart. Like him defensively. Better than the Janish/Valdez type as a hitter. Has some extra base power.

But he is miscast at the top of the batting order. Should be hitting seventh or eighth.

I agree. He's matured as a hitter the past few years. He still adjusts to his batting order position though unfortunately.

Phillips, like Votto, is quite good at fouling off two strike pitches. It saves him as a hitter because he gets behind in the count so much.

If only Drew Stubbs could learn to foul off those pitches, he hardly ever does it.

Nice play by Harrison to throw out Phillips on weak grounder. Nice leather by Bucs that inning.

I think that's why Brandon hits into double plays fairly often. He doesn't get a great break out of the box. A better break from home plate, he might have beaten that one out.

Don't know if anyone else agrees, but Stubbs is playing much better CF defensively this year. He is handling the wall better out there and he is making more catches coming in after the ball. He's always been good going side to side.

IMO he can't hit much, but Drew is a good CF and is improving.

At 70 pitches he might be too strong. Having him go 95-100 would be just fine and likely better, especially if they are relatively stress free.
